I am not exaggerating when I say that these guys can do no wrong. Pretty much every song these guys have released have been on point. They are easily my favourites at the moment - but I will go into more detail about that in a post coming soon.  Also, the music video is SO phenomenal.

Tracks of the Weeks

So, I kind of just realized that it's been two weeks and no track of the week. Which is crazy, like how has it already been two weeks?! Time is fucking nuts.

Anyway, this just means a double dose.

I've had my mind on something for awhile. More accurately; someone. I think sometimes we take people for granted, not like you treat them badly, you just don't realise that they mean something, like they're not necessarily a huge part of your life but as soon they're gone, you're like what the fuck? I'm an idiot, you' are so important, you are so integral to my being, I fucking miss you.

So that's my head at the moment, therefore here are the two tracks of the week:

Track of the Week

Hello Internet hombres!

Firstly, I would like to wish you all a happy new year! Yay 2015. Love, light, blah blah ❤️

Secondly, here is your track of the week...

I had a lot of songs in mind for this week, and for some reason all of them, how do I put this politely... are fucking depressing. So, so wonderful but depressing none the less and I am not here to dim your new year glow.

But then it hit me, I listened to this song earlier today and it's just the right mix of chill and happy that is needed to begin a new year.

This isn't really what I'm used to reviewing, so bare with me please. Uniquely spare on vocals (as in this is the first song I've ever posted without vocals - diversity, yay) yet somehow manages to remain rich. It's pretty contemporary in it's playfulness but comes across as something not from this time. It kept me interested in a hypnotic sort of way, I think the best way to describe it is as an ethereal experience.

Track of the Week

So, this is awkward.

My first post in 7 months.

I didn't die, in case you were worried.

In order to ease myself back into the blogging world after my absence, I've decided to do a 'track of the week', where (as implied) I will be blogging about a track of my choice, every week. It may be old, new or blue. It's just going to be a song that gets me that week. So like, enjoy it or whatever.

This week's track is...

Drum roll...

                                                               You - The 1975

I've recently become so obsessed with The 1975 that I've found myself searching through themed tumblr pages and their past interviews - and I don't do this because I can't get enough of their dreamy lead singer or whatever but I'm actually just so obsessed with this dark enigma of a band equipped with dangerously catchy pop tunes and deadly serious lyrics. After 'Chocolate' came out, I refused to listen to them because I am a music snob and I did not want to be a part of anything that features in every 13 year old girl's indie 8tracks playlist. 'You' changed everything. Lead singer, Matty Healy said in an interview that he wants their music to bleed into people's lives, and I think that's how they won me over. It was in the background of my life one day and then I just wanted to keep hearing it in the background. 

It's beautifully subtle, in the best shoegazing kind of way. Listen carefully, and you can hear every 13 year old girl's heart breaking as Matty sings about asking another girl to dance. I will happily be dancing by myself to this song in my dimly lit bedroom (the only way to dance to any song if you ask me).
